Planning and environment specialist Mohamed joins Landmark Chambers

Leading planning and environment barrister Hashi Mohamed has become a member of Landmark Chambers.

Mohamed will take up his practice at Landmark in late September following a period of paternity leave.

The set said he undertakes all aspects of planning and environmental work with a focus on major development, infrastructure, enforcement and compulsory purchase work.

“He represents many leading housebuilders, and SMEs, as well local planning authorities and community groups. He regularly appears in hearings, inquiries, local plan examinations and in the High Court and Court of Appeal,” it added.

Mohamed is also a published author of two books ‘People Like Us: What it Takes to Make It in Modern Britain‘ (2020) (Radio 4 Book of the Week) and ‘A Home of One’s Own: Why the Housing Crisis Matters‘ (2022) and regularly appears on TV, radio shows and podcasts, and is a commentator in national publications.

He is the Chair of Coin St Housing Cooperative on the South Bank, responsible for 220 high quality affordable social housing, including in the OXO Tower.

Speaking about the move, Mohamed said: “I am extremely excited to be joining Landmark Chambers at a pivotal moment for my career. I am joining a community I know well, with members I have mostly known as opponents and now have the pleasure of calling colleagues. “Nothing will change when it comes to the quality of service provided, and to my loyal clients (and soon to be new clients) – normal services will resume in September.”
