Leeds City Council has appointed Pinsent Masons as legal advisers on the East Leeds Extension.

Earlier this month the local authority launched a number of community consultation events on the project, which covers a large areas of undeveloped land around the edge of Swarcliffe, Whinmoor and Crossgates identified for housing.

The development includes a 7.5km dual carriageway road and is expected to deliver 5,000 homes.

The contract value is estimated to be £200,000 excluding VAT. The council said it received four offers for the role.
