Council to procure legal services for aquatic centre for 2022 Commonwealth Games
- Details
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has launched the procurement of legal services for a £60m aquatic centre that will be constructed for the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
The contract for legal services will run from 12 March 2018 to 31 August 2019.
Sandwell said that while the contract was estimated to be required for approximately 15-18 months, "additional assistance may be required until commencement of the Commonwealth Games in 2022”.
In December 2017 Birmingham won the right to host the games.
The aquatic centre in Smethwick, Sandwell, will include a 50m swimming pool, a 25m diving pool and 5,000 spectator seats. It will be run by a leisure trust.
