Browne Jacobson hires senior associate in Cardiff from Welsh Government Legal Services Department
Law firm Browne Jacobson has hired a Senior Associate from the Welsh Government Legal Services Department for the public law team at its recently opened office in Cardiff.
Bill Cordingley spent five years working in the Department’s Environment and Energy team and Litigation team.
During his time there, he advised Welsh Ministers on their legal duties and advised on various other public law matters including Forestry, Habitats, Wildlife (hunting and trapping) and Air Quality. He also led on the Environment (Air Quality and Soundscapes) Bill introduced earlier in the year and the Forestry and Wildlife parts of Agriculture (Wales) Bill.
Prior to that Bill worked at Huttons as an in-house barrister.
Legal assistant Phillip Brettell has also joined Browne Jacobson’s Criminal Compliance & Regulatory team in Cardiff.
Brettell, who has extensive investigative and law enforcement experience and corporate security expertise, joins the firm from Newport City Council where he was a Compliance Officer in Trading Standards. Previously he worked as an investigations support officer at Gwent Police.
Browne Jacobson’s Cardiff office, which was opened in June this year, is currently made up of nine legal professionals.
