Bevan Brittan strengthens construction offering with hire of two partners and two senior associates

Law firm Bevan Brittan has bolstered its Construction Team with the appointment of two partners and two senior associates.

The new partners are:

  • Helen Andrews, who has joined Construction Team in Birmingham from Fieldfisher. “Her broad experience includes advising on contentious and non-contentious matters acting for main contractors, subcontractors, employers, developers, funders, consultants and end user occupiers,” the firm said.
  • Sarah Wilson, who has joined the Leeds office. “She brings significant experience from a 20-year career working with contractors, subcontractors and consultants in contentious and non-contentious matters, including advising on high-value engineering and construction projects across waste, utilities, chemical and energy works and house building.”

The law firm has also bolstered its Construction Team in Birmingham with the hire of Senior Associates William Cursham and Jake Stacey.

The firm has hired six new partners so far in 2021, most recently appointing Rachel Soundy, a Higher Education specialist who joined from Eversheds Sutherland.

In August Bevan Brittan revealed that it recorded a 9.1% increase in revenue to £56.1m in the 2020/21 financial year, while net profit rose by 29.5% to £14.7m.

Bevan Brittan’s Managing Partner, Duncan Weir, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract so many high-quality recruits to our business alongside our internal promotions at partner level and add yet more strength and depth to advise our growing client base across our emerging and established markets.

“The arrival of Helen, Sarah and Rachel, in Birmingham and Leeds, means we have now recruited six partners in 2021, with more to follow. It is especially pleasing to see all three join emerging markets of Construction and Higher Education, supporting our ambitious business strategy as we look to build on our eighth consecutive year of revenue growth.”
