Council lawyer shortlisted for ‘Legal Personality of the Year’ at LexisNexis Legal Awards 2022

Pauline Campbell, a senior lawyer at the London Borough of Waltham Forest, has been shortlisted for ‘Legal Personality of the Year’ at the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2022.

Her book, Rice & Peas and Fish & Chips: One Woman's Story of Overcoming Racism, was published this year.

Campbell, who had dreamed of becoming a lawyer, was told at 15 she was not ‘A’ level material. She qualified as a lawyer at the age of 41 and spent 14 years at Hackney Council before moving to Waltham Forest.

In 2016, the team she headed won Litigation Team of the Year at the Lawyers in Local Government Awards. Campbell also works as a Supervising Lawyer on the Windrush Justice Clinic.
