Description

We are pleased to invite you to our Covid-19 webinar, where a number of key members of the team will be providing an update on current issues arising in relation to the pandemic and its effect on local authorities, arms-length bodies and government.

  • Managing the Business Failure of a Key Contractor by Michael Mousdale - If a key contractor was to face an insolvency, the public authority needs to have a strategy for responding to a failure or a rescue package, to consider how it can continue to meet relevant statutory duties (whether by transfer of contract or bringing in house). This will involve an understanding of the types and consequences of insolvency, the procurement position governing a replacement and key matters such as TUPE and pensions.
  • Litigating During the Pandemic: Working with the Court System by Sarah Erwin-Jones - What guidance has been issued by the Court and Tribunal Services most likely to be used by local authorities, arms-length bodies and government sector organisations. Illustrating some practical hurdles for litigants raised by the Government's current lockdown, sometimes with reference to our own experience, and suggest solutions in the short, medium and longer-term to those challenges.
  • Planning by Ben Standing - Planning in the Covid 19 era - things to look out for and how to adapt to the new normal.

If you can't make our webinar please feel free to sign up and we will email a copy of the webinar recording out afterwards. A recording will also be available to watch from our LinkedIn page after the live session.
