Join senior team leaders from Manchester City Council, Trafford Council, Stoke on Trent City Council and Cheshire West and Chester Council discussing their response to the COVID - 19 crisis. This interactive seminar will end with a discussion to enable attendees to share their experiences and ideas for positive planning in the pandemic.

The speakers include: 

Sarah Reid - Planning Barrister - Kings Chambers

Sarah has over 15 years’ experience practising in all areas of Town and Country Planning, and is consistently ranked as a Leading Junior in all of the leading publications (Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, The Planner’s Women of Influence List and Planning Magazine’s Top Rated Junior List). She also specialises in Highway matters, and is the Assistant Editor of the Encyclopedia of Highway Law and Practice.

Stephanie Hall - Principal Solicitor - Manchester City Council

Stephanie advises Manchester City Council and Salford City Council on all aspects of planning, highways and compulsory purchase law and is advising Greater Manchester Combined Authority in respect of the emerging spatial framework. Stephanie has recently been recognised by the Planning Resource Planning Law survey as a leading local authority lawyer.

Rhiannon Monaghan – Development Lead – Stoke on Trent City Council

Rhiannon works in the Housing Growth team at Stoke on Trent City Council and leads on new build development in the city through their housing company, Fortior Homes. Rhiannon also leads on disposals of the Councils land assets for residential development.

Rebecca Coley, Head of Planning and Development, Trafford Council

Rebecca Coley joined Trafford in February 2016 as Head of Planning and Development. She has worked at a number of Councils across Greater Manchester and Cheshire in her 17 years in local government, specialising in development management. Whilst at Trafford, Rebecca has delivered a number of key projects, including the outline permission for 3000 homes at Trafford Waters; the redevelopment of Sale Town Centre and the first phases of the regeneration of Carrington. She is currently leading the commissioning and production of the Civic Quarter Area Action Plan and the Trafford Design Guide and plays a key role in Trafford's place shaping and investment strategy. Rebecca is passionate about design and quality in the built environment and promoting female leadership and influence.

Chrisa Tsompani, Legal Manager, Environment, Cheshire West and Chester Council

Chrisa specialises in planning, highways and local government law. Currently working as Legal Manager in the Environment team at Cheshire West and Chester Council. She has previously worked as a Principal Solicitor at Manchester City Council.
