Delivered online for 2020, LLG Climate Change will provide attendees the tools and strategies to lead and develop the climate change and sustainability agenda within their councils through a broad range of sessions focusing on innovation, investment and practical solutions. With 282 councils having now declared a climate emergency, the focus is on the development and implementation of climate action plans to identify the key actions and interventions required to ensure local authorities achieve their decarbonisation commitments.

This year’s online event will feature sessions with specialist environmental and energy lawyers at leading law firms, together with presentations from leading experts within local authorities providing practical insight into innovative projects and best practice. We’re delighted to announce that this year’s event will be co-chaired by national expert on public sector climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy, Stephen Cirell, with sessions throughout the day being delivered by Weightmans, Shoosmiths, Nottingham City Council and Trowers & Hamlins.

Our programme will offer a series of engaging webinars, discussion and Q&A sessions on topics ranging from climate action plans, what authorities should be doing now to meet their net zero targets, developing energy strategies, and case studies on specific decarbonisation projects. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with a selection of our speakers during the virtual coffee breaks.

Whilst the event will be held across one day, all sessions will be recorded and made available to download after the event, providing you with the opportunity either to participate in the whole day or to attend selected sessions on the day and then catch up in your own time on anything you’ve missed.
