Renters (Reform) Bill: An Overview

Yesterday saw the Renters (Reform) Bill get its long-awaited first reading in Parliament changing the law about rented homes. Headline measures include changes to grounds for possession and the abolition of assured shorthold tenancies and fixed-term assured tenancies, as well as new enforcement provisions.

The Renters (Reform) Bill proposes the most significant reform to tenancies in England since the 1980s and is now making its way through Parliament. Headline measures include changes to grounds for possession and the abolition of assured shorthold tenancies and fixed-term assured tenancies, as well as new enforcement provisions.

Andrew Lane and Jack Barber will consider some of these proposed changes and the implications for housing professionals across the public and private sectors.
