This interactive workshop is aimed at people working in public authorities who have some responsibility for the day-to-day handling of Freedom of Information Act requests.
It provides an overview of the main parts of the Act and in particular focusses on how to handle requests in a timely and effective manner that meets the requirements of the Act.The workshop also introduces the different types of exemptions which may be used to withhold information. The day is aimed at beginners or people who wish to refresh their basic knowledge.The expert tutor brings the workshop to life with real life examples, practical scenarios and interactive exercises.
