FTB: ADR for Compensation

Frances Taylor Building are delighted to let you know that, due to popular demand, chambers will be hosting a repeat of the panel discussion on ADR for compensation which will be led by Guy Roots KC, Craig Howell Williams KC, Richard Glover KC and Meyric Lewis KC.

It has been arranged against the background of increasing pressure to use ADR to resolve disputes as indicated by the recent Court of Appeal decision in Churchill v Merthyr Tydfil that courts can lawfully order parties to engage in ADR and the Tribunal’s new practice directions which make clear that refusal to participate in ADR can be taken into account when costs are assessed. Panellists will explain the types of ADR that are most suited to disputes about compensation for compulsory purchase and other forms of statutory compensation, and the practical aspects of using each method in a cost-effective manner.
