NHS Shared Business Services kick-starts £130m legal services tender

NHS Shared Business Services has kick-started the procurement exercise for a legal services framework agreement potentially worth more than £130m over four years.

Legal services will be provided per lots specified on a national basis. The framework will also be lotted by region, the organisation said.

The lots are:

  • NHS Governance & Law;
  • Primary Care Services;
  • Healthcare Law;
  • Mental Health Law;
  • Employment Law;
  • Contract and Commercial Law;
  • Property Law;
  • Construction;
  • IT, Telecommunications & E-commerce;
  • Corporate Finance & PFI/PPP projects including LIFT schemes.

The agreement will last for two years, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

NHS Shared Business Services said it wanted to establish a framework agreement for use by or on behalf of its current and future clients.

These include: any national health service trust; other persons and bodies exercising NHS functions or otherwise providing NHS services; other UK public sector bodies providing non-health services; and private sector entities in the UK and Isle of Man public services sector.
