New procurement directives published in Official Journal
- Details
The new public procurement directives have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union.
The move means that the directives will come into force 20 days after the date of publication (28 March).
The relevant directives, which can be viewed here, are:
- Directive 2014/23/EU on the award of concession contracts;
- Directive 2014/24/EU on public procurement (and repealing Directive 2004/18/EC);
- Directive 2014/25/EU on procurement by entities operating in the water, energy, transport and postal services sectors (and repealing Directive 2004//17/EC).
Member states are given two years to implement the directives, although the Cabinet Office has indicated that it will implement them much sooner.
