Scottish Government to set up legal services panels worth £30-40m
- Details
The Scottish Government has issued a prior information notice for a legal services framework that could be worth £30-40m if it goes ahead.
The framework, which is being put together by the Scottish Procurement and Commercial Directorate, would be made available to a wide range of public bodies in Scotland including NHS organisations.
The agreement is expected to begin in July 2015 and last for up to four years.
It is envisaged that it will cover:
- Contract, commercial and corporate law;
- Debt recovery;
- Litigation, reparation, employment and inquiries;
- Major projects; and
- Property and related matters.
The scheduled date for the start of award procedures is 1 August 2014.
A supplier engagement meeting is to be held next month (4 July).
This meeting will: give an overview of the work; ask suppliers’ views on how the public sector in Scotland can “best interact with service providers to obtain services at best value in the delivery of a national advertising portal”; seek suppliers’ views on any related issues/developments in the marketplace “that might impact on this project or should be considered when procuring these services”; help the directorate “gain maximum benefit in future commercial relationships with the supply chain”.
