Sussex consortium unveils panel appointments

The full list of 28 law firms and 22 barristers’ chambers to have been selected – together with Kent County Council Legal Services – for a legal services framework set up by a consortium of local authorities in Sussex has been revealed this week.

The Sussex Consortium Legal Services involves 16 authorities in East and West Sussex, including the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Authority, and is expected to save just under half a million pounds a year. The total expenditure of the participating authorities in 2007/8 is understood to have been in the region of £3-3.5m.

The Sussex framework is the latest in a string of panel announcements revealed this year, following in the heels of the North West Legal Consortium, EM Lawshare and a consortium of all the local authorities in Surrey.
