Tender kickstarted on £24m legal advice panels for police forces

The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) has begun the re-tendering of the National Legal Services Framework for the supply of legal services to police forces.

Worth between £18m and £24m over four years, the framework is intended to “complement any existing in-house service for up to 43 Police Forces, (the Elected Police and Crime Commissioner, the Police Commissioner, Chief Constables where they are the contracting authority for the Force) their partner agencies, the GLA, and successors in title throughout England and Wales and Northern Ireland”.

The envisaged maximum number of participants to the framework agreement is 12.

The MOPAC, as contracting authority, has invited expressions of interest from “suitably experienced firms of solicitors”. There will be four lots:

  • Lot 1 — Procurement, Contract and Commercial, Governance;
  • Lot 2 — Civil Litigation and Personal Injury;
  • Lot 3 — Employment;
  • Lot 4 — Property (including Commercial, Residential Property & PFI).

The deadline for receipt of tenders or requests to participate Is 17:00 on 19 August 2015.
