Procurement body for NW social housing sector names firm to 8-year contract

A procurement consortium for the social housing sector in the North West has appointed law firm Devonshires to an eight-year legal services contract following a competitive tender.

Procure Plus is a commercial, not for profit, company that specialises in the procurement of goods and services related both to new-build and to the repair and maintenance of a wide range of social housing. The housing stock is owned by its clients, who are largely registered social housing providers.

The estimated value of the contract is £376,000. The contract start date was 28 October 2015 and the contract end date is 27 October 2023.

Procure Plus said Devonshires was selected due to its breadth of experience in public procurement, social housing, construction and governance.

“This understanding of the sector placed them in a strong position to advise across the full spectrum of Procure Plus’ business,” it said.

“Alongside this, a dedicated team and continued understanding of the consortium’s priorities meant that the firm is well placed to make positive contributions to the business as required.”

Clare Tetlow, senior procurement manager at Procure Plus, said: “Devonshires’ extensive experience and knowledge of our primary sectors means that the team is already familiar with the markets we operate in, the services we deliver and is able to advise on issues to ensure the best outcome for members.”

Kris Kelliher, partner at Devonshires Solicitors LLP, said: “We’re very pleased that Procure Plus has appointed Devonshires as its sole legal services provider. The team is looking forward to continuing its relationship with the consortium and assisting it in succeeding, growing and helping further benefit members, customers and the communities that it serves.”

Procure Plus operates a number of frameworks covering: consultancy services; fleet management; gas servicing and maintenance services; merchants; new build; social value and refurbishment; supply of goods and materials; various installation and repair; and waste management.
