Fire and rescue authorities look to appoint legal services providers

Two fire and rescue bodies are looking to appoint suppliers to legal services contracts.
The Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority is looking to appoint a provider of 'ad hoc' legal services. The closing date is 29 January 2016.
The contract is estimated to be worth £50,000 to £100,000. It will start on 1 March 2016 and end on 28 February 2019.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service (TWFRS) is meanwhile requesting quotations from suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to provide legal services for:
- Legal representation for fire safety prosecutions;
- Enforcement guidance; and
- Provision of legal training.
The contract is valued at £20,000 to £40,000. It will start on 1 April 2016 and run until 31 March 2019.
The closing date for the TWFRS contract is 5 February 2016.
