Three fire and rescue services in Wales are to procure the provision of fire safety legal advice, representation and training.
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said that at part of the arrangements they would require suitably qualified legal representation at Magistrates and higher-level courts to deal with fire safety cases as and when required.
“The legal representation must be appropriate to the level of technical expertise required in the hearing (Magistrates or Crown Court),” they added.
The contract is worth an estimated £168,500. It is expected to last three years, with an option to extend for an additional two 12-month periods.
