Group of housing providers appoint 10 law firms to £4-5m legal services panel

A co-operative of registered providers and other companies delivering services to the social housing sector has named ten law firms to a legal services framework worth an estimated £4-5m over 48 months.

The Sovini Group divided the framework into the following lots:

  1. Corporate.
  2. Employment.
  3. Housing management.
  4. Property, land and development

The successful firms were:

  • Aaron & Partners (Lot 2)
  • Anthony Collins Solicitors (1)
  • Brabners (1, 2, 4)
  • Capsticks (3)
  • Clarke Willmott (4)
  • Croftons (3, 4)
  • Devonshires (1)
  • Forbes Solicitors (1, 2, 3, 4)
  • Hill Dickinson (4)
  • Weightmans (1, 2, 3, 4)

Sovini has awarded annual retainers for some lots of the framework. For all lots of the framework the service provider ranked first in each lot following evaluation of tenders will be required to provide a 20-minute helpline (free of charge) accessible by phone or email providing Sovini officers access to informal advice.

The retainers were given to Weightmans for Lot 1, Aaron & Partners for Lot 2 and Capsticks for Lot 3.

Founded in 2011, the Sovini group now incorporates 12 members, providing property management and development solutions. Its members include One Vision Housing, which was set up in 2006 via a stock transfer from Sefton Council.
