Guildford Borough Council is looking to appoint a legal services provider to a £800,000 contract to advise on a major regeneration project.

The local authority said it plans to select a provider “with proven local government experience delivering large scale grant-funded regeneration projects” in the following disciplines:

  • planning and environmental law;
  • property law;
  • procurement;
  • contracts and state aid and local government law.

The procurement of the legal adviser for the Guildford Economic Regeneration Project is a two-stage competition run under the Light Touch Regime via restricted procedure.

At the first stage of the competition (10 days duration) a maximum of five competitors will be shortlisted on the basis of the selection criteria set out in the selection questionnaire.

At stage two (10 days duration), providers will be asked to complete a technical evaluation based on the information set out in the competition conditions and its appendices.

The contract duration is 36 months, with a possible extension of 12 months plus a further 12 months.
