Procurement launched for framework agreement for LGPS legal services

Norfolk County Council is leading the procurement of a multi-provider, multi-lot framework agreement for the provision of legal services primarily in support of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

In February 2019 12 law firms were appointed to the current framework, which was estimated at the time to be worth £11.75m.

In addition to Norfolk (the administering authority for the Norfolk Pension Fund), the buyers for the replacement framework agreement are:

  • City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (as Administering Authority of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund
  • City of Edinburgh (as Administering Authority of Lothian Pension Fund)
  • City of Wolverhampton Council (as Administering Authority of West Midlands Pension Fund)
  • LGPS Central Ltd
  • Local Pensions Partnership Investments Ltd
  • London Borough of Lambeth
  • London Pensions Authority
  • Northern Ireland Local Government Officers' Superannuation Committee (NILGOSC)
  • Staffordshire County Council (as Administering Authority for Staffordshire Pension Fund)

The framework will be divided into the following lots:

  1. Full Service – England and Wales
  2. Full Service – Scotland
  3. Full Service (Northern Ireland)
  4. Investment and Regulatory Compliance (UK Wide)
  5. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (England and Wales)
  6. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (Scotland)
  7. Benefit Administration, Employer Bodies and Governance (Northern Ireland)

The framework agreement is due to run for 48 months.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 2 pm on 24 October 2022.
