Commercial Services Group owned by Kent County Council appoints 19 law firms to £250m national legal services framework

Kent County Council’s wholly-owned Commercial Services Group has selected 19 law firms to provide legal services under a national framework worth up to £250m.

In April, Ian Day, Head of Procurement at Commercial Services, said the framework would be fully accessible to all public bodies and/or organisations designated as having to abide by UK Public Regulations, including the county council.

He also confirmed that the arrangements do not impact on Kent’s contract with Invicta Law, which was entered into in 2017 and runs for 10 years.

The framework agreement will provide a range of legal services, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Business Law and Acquisition
  • Charity Law
  • Child Protection
  • Civil Litigation Law
  • Commercial Property Law
  • Community Care Law
  • Construction Law
  • Data Protection and Freedom of Information
  • Dispute Resolution and Litigation
  • Education Law
  • Employment Law
  • Energy, Waste and Sustainability
  • Finance Services
  • Food, Rural, Environmental, Natural Resources
  • Health and Healthcare
  • Health and Safety
  • Human Resources
  • Human Rights Law
  • Intellectual Property Rights and Licensing
  • International Law
  • Planning and Highways Law
  • Primary Care Law
  • Procurement and Contract Services
  • Property and Land Law

The contract is expected to start on 1 July 2022 and run until 30 June 2026.

The contract was not divided into lots.
