Planning barrister boosts Hardwicke property team
- Details
Leading planning specialist Martha Grekos has joined the property team at Hardwicke after a number of years as an employed barrister.
Grekos specialises in promoting redevelopment projects that are politically sensitive and involve large and complex environmental impact assessments, compulsory purchase orders, highway orders, planning agreements and appeal court proceedings including judicial review.
She also drafts and promotes Development Consent Orders and Transport and Works Act Orders and drafts and negotiates infrastructure agreements.
As an employment barrister she has worked for Herbert Smith Freehills, BLP, Eversheds, Irwin Mitchell and Howard Kennedy. She also taught planning law at Cambridge University.
Grekos said: “Having decided that I wished to move back to the independent Bar after working as an employed barrister, I was looking for a set that not only offered top property expertise but also suited my personal style. I am a very practical lawyer who will roll up my sleeves and look for solutions that meet clients’ needs.”
John de Waal QC of Hardwicke said: “Martha is a significant addition to Hardwicke’s leading property team. We are already known for our excellence in commercial landlord and tenant, development, housing, leasehold, real property and trusts of land. Now we are able to offer clients first rate planning expertise.”
