Ben Clulee, a specialist in complex public law proceedings, is to join St. Mary’s Chambers as a tenant from 26 February 2024.
Clulee has been practising as a family law specialist for most of his career. Having been called to the Bar in 2005 he has previously worked as a solicitor at Family Law Group in Nottingham before he transferred back to the Bar in 2017 and joined Derwent Chambers.
In public law proceedings he represents local authorities, parents and children. He also acts in private law children cases, and appears regularly in cases across the Midlands.
Claire Howell, Joint Head of St Mary’s Chambers, said: “I have always been impressed by Ben's thorough preparation and skilful advocacy, so I am thrilled that he is joining our team in the New Year. I am fortunate to work alongside some of the nicest people and highest-calibre advocates at St. Mary's, and Ben is a very welcome addition as Chambers continues to grow and thrive.”
Scott Baldwin, CEO of St. Mary’s, added: “We have a plan to grow significantly over the next five years and recruiting specialist family law barristers who understand our vision and goals is key. Ben is exactly what we are looking for and we are excited to be working with him in future.”
