Bevan Brittan sees turnover grow for fifth year in a row

Law firm Bevan Brittan has reported growth for the fifth year in succession, with turnover up 4.5% to £39.2m.

Gross profit for the financial year was £26.2m, up from £24.6m, and net profit was £8m, up from £7m.

Developments highlighted by the firm included its reappointment to NHS Resolution and Places for People's PFP Procurement Hub, being appointed to advise on the Birmingham Smithfield regeneration scheme and acting for A Shade Greener and Hornbeam Park.

The private sector now represents 23% of the firm’s total revenues.

The number of partners increased to 58 – with four external hires and two internal promotions

Managing partner Duncan Weir said: “By continuing to deliver sustainable growth and profitability, our year end results reflect what has been a confident and successful year for the firm. We have a sound financial platform to further deliver excellent client service in the year ahead.”

Senior Partner Joanne Easterbrook said: “Strategically to achieve sustainable growth it is so important we invest in our future talent which is why we have increased our number of trainees and apprenticeships in 2016/17. I was particularly pleased that our two new partner promotions, Laura Brealey and Nathan Bradberry, joined us as trainees."
