Council legal team wins LawWorks Pro Bono Award

The council had also been in the running for Most Effective Pro Bono Partnership, with DV FLAG East which provides providing free, independent and confidential advice to residents who are experiencing or are affected by domestic violence.

The legal team works jointly with Citizens Advice on delivery of the scheme, which was said at its launch in June 2019 to be the first of its kind in the country

The service is provided by accredited and experienced family solicitor firms and officers from the council’s legal practice.
