Council suspends chief exec pending disciplinary investigation
- Details
Lancashire County Council has suspended its chief executive, Phil Halsall, from work pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation.
The local authority said its urgency committee had made the decision in a meeting held at County Hall yesterday (5 August), adding that this followed an independent review of the tender process for a contract to run the council's fleet services.
The committee has appointed Jo Turton, the council's Executive Director for Environment, as interim chief executive with immediate effect.
"The council will be making no further comment pending the outcome of the disciplinary process," the statement on the council's website said.
