Serjeants’ Inn bolsters Court of Protection team with Sutton arrival

Serjeants’ Inn has bolstered its Court of Protection and public and administrative law teams with the arrival of Emma Sutton.

Sutton, who was called to the Bar in 2006 and was previously Deputy Head of the Public Law Group at No 5 Chambers, will also be part of the set’s Education and Inquest and Inquiries teams.

She is the ninth established practitioner to join the chambers in the last ten months.

Serjeants’ Inn said Sutton’s arrival reflected its ongoing commitment to building the expertise and service it offers to instructing solicitors and lay-clients.

Catherine Calder, Joint Chief Executive of Serjeants' Inn, said: “Emma’s addition to our first-class Court of Protection team further expands our expertise in this field and substantially advances our ability to represent clients in Property and Affairs cases, as well as Health and Welfare.

"Together with the recent arrival of Dijen Basu QC and Matthew Holdcroft, it gives Chambers’ solicitors greater public law expertise to call on, as well as significantly strengthening our Education and Inquest and Inquiries teams”.
