Beachcroft nets procurement role on Blackburn's £20m waste project

Blackburn with Darwen Council has selected national firm Beachcroft to advise on the procurement of a £20m waste reception treatment and disposal facility.

Beachcroft partner Giles Taylor said: “The project will be procured under the competitive dialogue regime and will be one of the first to adopt the latest version of the DEFRA WIDP Residual Waste Treatment Contract which has recently been updated."

The facility will be capable of handling 40,000 to 80,000 tonnes per annum.

Beachcroft had previously advised technology contractor MW High Tech Projects UK on West Sussex County Council’s ‘Materials Resource Management Contract’, a waste PPP deal which reached financial close over the summer.
