Clive Anderson to host inaugural Lawyers in Local Government awards

Broadcaster Clive Anderson will be the host of the inaugural Lawyers in Local Government Awards in November, it has been announced.

Dubbed the ‘cuddly assassin’, Anderson currently hosts Loose Ends and Unreliable Evidence on BBC Radio 4. A barrister by training, he has appeared as a guest on a wide range of shows including Have I Got News For You, QI, Mock the Week, and The Bubble.

He is well known for his ‘ask the unaskable’ questions, such as:

  • To Cher: 'You look like a million dollars - is that how much it cost?' and
  • To Jeffrey Archer: 'Is there no beginning to your talents?'

The awards – to be given at a black-tie event at the Rosewood Hotel in London on 29 November – cover the following categories:

  • Adult Social Care and Health;
  • Children Services and Education;
  • Employment Law;
  • Information Management;
  • Litigation and Licensing;
  • Monitoring Officer and Governance;
