The Employment Rights Act 2025 received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025 and it is described as the biggest upgrade to employment rights in a generation. The Government has taken a phased approach to implementation of the Act from December 2026 through to 2027.

The Employment Rights Act 2025: where are we now and what’s on the horizon?
During the webinar, Blake Morgan Legal Director Jonathan Walsh, Associate Elinor Rowlands and Senior Practice Support Lawyer Debra Gers will:
- Highlight some of the key measures recently implemented such as the SSP reforms, family leave changes and expanded protection for sexual harassment disclosures and their practical implications.
- Consider the changes we can expect in October 2026 such as extension of the sexual harassment preventative duty, trade union reforms and the procurement two-tier code.
- Look ahead to the high-profile changes to unfair dismissal rights in January 2027 and what these mean for employers as well as the introduction of mandatory equality action plans.
