Lawyers in Local Government launches leadership challenge for women in sector
Lawyers in Local Government (LLG) has launched a leadership challenge for women working in local government legal departments or in legal firms which support the work of LLG.
The MDG3 Leadership Challenge, which is being run in association with law firm Anthony Collins, comprises:
- A two-day programme in the UK in February 2015;
- A fund-raising project;
- A four-day module in South Africa at the end of April/beginning of May 2015.
Philip Thomson, LLG President, said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for actual and potential women leaders with a local government legal background to participate in a ‘once in a life time’ leadership development opportunity which involves a hands on project helping communities in South Africa.”
More information on the challenge can be found here. Applications must be submitted by 14 November.
The challenge has been named after one of the UN’s Millennium Development Goals (MDG3) to promote gender equality and empower women.
