A zero sum game?

NHS business support provider to procure £100m legal services panel

NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) is to procure a new legal services framework worth up to £100m over the length of the contract.

NHS SBS, a joint venture between the Department of Health and SopraSteria that provides business support services, envisages there being 25 participants to the framework agreement, which will last 48 months from the award of the contract.

The agreement will replace an existing arrangement that runs until 30 November 2017 and has 22 law firms as suppliers.

The revised framework will consist of the following lots:

  1. NHS Governance & Public Law.
  2. Primary Care Services.
  3. Healthcare Law.
  4. Mental Health Law.
  5. Employment Law.
  6. Contract and Commercial Law.
  7. Property Law.
  8. Construction.
  9. IT, Telecommunication & E-commerce.
  10. Corporate Finance & PFI/PPP Projects.
  11. Multi Disciplinary Project Support.

The contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender in terms of quality (weighting: 50) and price (weighting: 50).

Access to the framework will be made available to a wide range of NHS bodies and other public sector organisations including local authorities.
