Fourth new High Court judge appointed

A personal injury and clinical negligence specialist has been appointed a High Court Judge, the fourth new justice to be unveiled this month.
The appointment of Andrew Ritchie QC will take effect from 1 October 2021. He will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
Ritchie qualified and worked as a solicitor before qualifying for the Bar in 1985. He was a member of 9 Gough Chambers.
His appointment follows those already announced for:
- His Honour Judge Barry Cotter QC;
- His Honour Judge Stephen Eyre QC; and
- Heather Williams QC.
The Courts and Tribunals Judiciary said it was anticipated that further appointments would be announced in the coming months.
