National Grid unveils plans for “more innovative” legal services tender

National Grid has published a notice on its upcoming plans for a “more innovative and cost effective” legal services tender.
The utility company said: “National Grid are planning to put in place a new long-term agreement with a panel of multiple firms which will provide unparalleled business driven legal services and advice to ensure sustainable success for our business ventures.
“Our vision is to transform the way we procure legal services – we want to be more innovative and cost effective.”
The framework agreement will seek legal advice for energy and regulation, competition law, property and planning, commercials, disputes, trademark and patent services, construction, corporate, health, safety, environment and employment. National Grid said this list was not exhaustive.
The tender is currently being prepared and is scheduled to be published at the end of March 2019 (subject to internal governance).
