Bevan Brittan advises housing providers on merger

Law firm Bevan Brittan has advised Catalyst Housing Group and Aldwyck Housing Group on a merger that will see the combined group own and manage 32,000 homes.

Catalyst provides a wide range of affordable housing options in London and the South East. Aldwyck is a leading housing provider in the East of England.

The combined group has an aspiration to deliver 1,300 homes a year by 2022.

Bevan Brittan provided advice on the corporate governance aspects of the merger, as well as support with due diligence and HR/pensions issues.

Sarah Greenhalgh, Senior Associate at Bevan Brittan, said:“We are delighted to have worked with Catalyst and Aldwyck on this project, and have enjoyed seeing the drive and ambition of their teams through our work together. We wish the new group every success in their goals.”

Sophie Atkinson, Director of Governance and Compliance at Catalyst Housing Group, said: “We’re very grateful to Bevan Brittan for providing us with sound advice as we navigated our way through what has ultimately been a smooth and successful merger. Working in partnership with them has meant we have been able to get things done quickly and efficiently.”
