Major NW social landlord names 10 firms to £5m legal services framework

The largest affordable housing provider in the North West of England, Torus, has appointed ten law firms to a four-year legal services framework.
The framework was divided into the following lots:
- Development and Specialist Property Transactions (estimated value pa: £440,000).
- Sales and Routine Property Transactions (£250,000).
- Corporate and finance (£250,000).
- Employment and HR (£86,000).
- Housing management (£280,000).
The successful firms were:
- Bevan Brittan (Lots 1, 2, 3)
- Brabners (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
- Capsticks (1, 2, 3, 5)
- Forbes (1, 2)
- Freeths (1)
- Shakespeare Martineau (5)
- Stephensons (2)
- Trowers & Hamlins (2)
- Ward Hadaway (1)
- Weightmans (4)
The contract notice issued in January 2021 said the framework was worth an estimated £5m and would run until 31 May 2025.
Torus describes itself as “simultaneously a landlord, property developer, commercial contractor and social entrepreneur”. It manages 40,000 homes.
