Eight firms appointed to £26.3m legal services framework for Scottish councils

The City of Edinburgh Council has selected eight law firms to a legal services framework worth an estimated £26.3m.
The framework will be available to the following local authorities: City of Edinburgh Council, Stirling Council, West Lothian Council, East Lothian Council, Midlothian Council, Falkirk Council, the Highland Council, East Dunbartonshire Council, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, South Ayrshire Council, Orkney Islands Council, Shetland Islands Council, Inverclyde Council, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Angus Council, North Lanarkshire Council, South Lanarkshire Council and Renfrewshire Council.
The framework has been divided into six lots:
- Commercial
- Property and Planning
- Litigation
- Employment
- Major Projects and Investigations
- Debt Recovery
The successful firms were:
- Anderson Strathern (lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
- Brodies (1, 3, 4, 5)
- Clyde & Co (Scotland) (4)
- CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang (5)
- DWF (3)
- Harper Macleod (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
- Morton Fraser (1, 2, 3)
- Shepherd and Wedderburn (1, 2)
In June 2023 the estimated value of the framework was increased to more than £26m with the addition of four councils as participating authorities.
The original contract notice said the framework was estimated to be worth £22m.
