LLG calls for applicants for Deputy Vice President position

LLG (Lawyers in Local Government) is inviting applications for the Director Position of Deputy Vice President.  

LLG said: “If you have the strategic vision to lead the company at pace whilst applying creative vision to the provision of membership services; this role will provide a stimulating, rewarding and career enhancing opportunity placing you in direct contact with key stakeholders and corporate partners together with central government departments.”

It added that applicants would be expected to have extensive experience of local government legal and governance law and practice “and be able to form a national view which enables them to speak authoritatively and confidently to members, senior stakeholders, civil servants and the legal press”.  

The DVP role will commence from LLG’s AGM in April 2024, with the successful candidate automatically appointed as Vice President in 2025 and LLG President in 2026.

Rachel McKoy, Director of Law & Governance & Monitoring Officer at the London Borough of Hounslow, is President of LLG, while Aneeka Muneer Sarwar, Senior Prosecution/Regulatory Solicitor and Deputy Monitoring Officer, at Calderdale Council, is Vice President and Paul Turner, Director of Legal and Assurance and Monitoring Officer at Essex Council, is Deputy Vice President.
