QCs at 1GC and Doughty Street named High Court judges
A specialist in children law and a specialist in inquests and public inquiries have been appointed Justices of the High Court.
The appointments of Sarah Morgan QC of 1GC and Henrietta Hill QC of Doughty Street Chambers will take effect from 11 January 2022.
Morgan was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1988 and took Silk in 2011. She will be assigned to the Family Division.
Hill was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1997 and took Silk in 2015. Her notable cases included the inquests into the deaths of Jean Charles de Menezes and those who died as a result of the Hillsborough stadium disaster. From 2016 – 2021 she was counsel to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. She will be assigned to the Queen’s Bench Division.
