The Scottish Court of Session has considered the question of whether the construction of a wind farm and its grid connection constitutes a single project for the purpose of assessing environmental impact (see Raeshaw Farms Ltd v Scottish Ministers & Energiekonitor UK Ltd [2026] CSIH 10, judgment 17 February 2026). The Court quashed a decision to grant consent for a wind farm over the failure to properly assess whether turbines and grid connection constituted a single project.
To unpack the decision and its practical consequences, Cornerstone Barristers is hosting a webinar at 16.00 on 26 February 2026. James Findlay KC represented the Appellant in the proceedings. He will be joined by Josef Cannon KC, Nina Pindham and Jack Barber to discuss the judgment and the potentially significant implications for developers, decision-makers and interest groups across the United Kingdom.
If you are advising on renewable energy schemes with associated grid infrastructure, this is a discussion you won’t want to miss.
