1 Crown Office Row barrister named commissioner at equalities watchdog

Alasdair Henderson, a public law barrister at 1 Crown Office Row, has been appointed as one of five new Commissioners at the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
The other Commissioners are:
- Suzanne Baxter, an experienced FTSE 250 board member and finance professional
- Pavita Cooper, a talent and diversity expert who has worked for organisations including Shell, Barclays and Lloyds Banking Group.
- Helen Mahy CBE, a former Group Company Secretary and General Counsel of National Grid and qualified barrister
- Mark McLane, Head of Global Diversity and Inclusion for Barclays PLC
David Isaac, Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission and a partner at law firm Pinsent Masons, said: "I’m thrilled to welcome our new Commissioners on board. They bring a wealth of experience both in terms of corporate knowledge as well as equality. I look forward to working with each of them to help shape the direction of the Commission and tackle the most pressing issues in our society."
The Chair and Commissioners are public appointments made by the Minister for Women and Equalities.
